Małgorzata Sęk

Małgorzata Sek graduated from K. Lipiński Public Secondary Music School in Lublin. She was first taught by
Prof. Ryszard Łosakiewicz.

After her studies at the Music Academy in Łódź she continued her education in the master class of Prof. Roman Jabłoński at the Conservatorio Superior de San Sebastian (Spain).

Małgorzata Sęk took part in many national and international music interpretation courses under the direction
for example of Prof. A. Vardi, J. Devich, St. Firlej, S. Kamas, M. Maisky.

She is the winner of the I prize in Grażyna Bacewicz International Chamber Music Competition in Łódź (2001)
as well as a finalist in the K. Wiłkomirski all-Polish Cello Competition in Poznań (1995).

She gave concerts in Austria, Belgium, Croatia, France, Spain, Japan, Scotland, Italy and Ukraine.
The cellist recorded for the radio and TV Polonia.

Małgorzata Sęk performs as a soloist accompanied by such pianists as Katarzyna Kwiatkowska and Andrzej Bereżyński, she works together with the Quatuor Europe Quartet on projects dedicated to popularizing the works
of Spanish composers.

She takes part in organ concerts and festivals performing cello works solo and accompanied by organs.
Recently she became interested in collaborating with an accordionist, Prof. Eliwira Śliwkiewicz-Cisak,
with whom she shares her preference for performance of modern music.

Małgorzata Sęk is passionately devoted to pedagogical work, teaching cello.

In 2014 she obtained a PhD degree in musical arts at Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Music Academy in Łódź.
